Telepathy is the communication between two minds via non-verbal
means. Clairvoyance is the ability to get visions of events taking
place elsewhere in the world. Telekinesis is the ability to move
objects remotely without physical intervention. Channeling is the
ability to mediate communication between the living and the dead.
And the list can go on. We can talk til we are blue in the face
about all the different kinds of abilities out there, and our
theories about how they work, but in the end, what are they?

Science has been looking in to psychic phenomena for decades, if not
centuries, and the general consensus is, that it's not real. The
primary reason for this is two fold, as I've found.

The first and likely most important is, reproducibility. Psychic
phenomena, like all supernatural phenomena that are tested here in
the west, commonly lack reliable means of being repeated again and
again, as science demands for proper testing. Until then, science
cannot accept something that could be chalked up to a fluke.

The second is establishing an acceptable theory behind these
phenomena. Currently, because of the brain being the center of our
attention in science; science looks to the brain and it's physical
components for areas that are dedicated to these phenomena. But no
physical area has been detected to be the source of either the
sending of receiving of these effects. So therefore if there is no
station in the brain to do it, it must not be actually occurring.

To put it another way, if it does not repeatedly adhere to their
physical theory of the world, then they wont accept it. But the
phenomena itself persists, digging into the sides of the scientists
who oppose it, until like good little soldiers they are, rise to
fight. They can't very well let something stand that might challenge
the status-quo, and with inquiring minds at their back demanding a
rebuttal, they default. It's the mind playing tricks on them, mental
illnesses and delusion, or their favorite when the odds are against
them, “It's chance!”.

As simple of an argument that it is, claiming it's chance, it does
sadly fit. After all, there is a lack of repeatability within
testing, so chance alone may account for the statistical hits and
misses. Although that is only when the bare and blunt results of
these tests are weighed. I could probably bash science, or more
accurately scientists; because it's not science itself that holds the
bias; all day for overlooking a set of real phenomena just because it
doesn't adhere to their standards. Even though quantum physics
doesn't either, but that doesn't challenge their beliefs in the world
as stringently. I wont though. Because the fault doesn't fall
completely on their shoulders.

Many try and train to acquire these abilities, and so they practice
and practice and practice. Trying to hone the sharpness of the
skill, refining it, polishing it. But when the time comes to call on
it, it's not always there. You end up feeling tired and worn out,
maybe even a little board, or perhaps nervous given the
circumstances, and it's not always there. Why is that?

I can only give you speculation at this point based on what I have
read regarding these tests, and the participants in them. There
seems to be two types of people that get tested for these abilities.
The haves, and the have nots. Far, far more people who are tested
are in the second category of the have nots, then the first. What
the haves have is not the ability to perform these supernatural
feats, where the have nots don't and think they do. What the have
nots actually lack, is the power. Energy might actually be a more
fitting word, though.

Like anything else you do, it requires fuel to perform. Now energy
in this sense is far more then mere fuel, but in this instance, we
will look at it as such. Most of those capable of repeatedly
performing these supernatural feats are chi masters. You know,
qigong, kung fu, tai chi, yin and yang, those sorts of masters?
Anyways, the other group is more of less the average joe who tries to
practice honing the skill, but neglects the fuel that powers it.
These masters train to not only hone the skill, but to store the
power, or energy needed to fuel it, within themselves. Because of
this, they not only have the skill to perform these miraculous feats,
but also the energy needed to accomplish them, so they get far more
consistent, and frankly impressive results.

Most who are interested in training for these psychic abilities are
invested in this new age movement, which over emphasizes the mind as
this end all be all thing, that requires nothing more than some
exercise in visualization to strengthen the ability. This exercise
may improve the vividness and accuracy of these phenomena, but it
doesn't improve the frequency or potency of them.

Telepathy, as an example, is information transference from one mind
to another. But what does this information ride on? What medium
does it use to get from point A to point B? Of course you know where
I am going with this, it's energy. When it comes down to these
abilities like telepathy or telekinesis, it's energy that powers
them. When trying to accomplish either of these two abilities, your
body will only use the excess energy that it has on hand to try and
do so, and unless pushed, which is dangerous, will not allow you to
exceed past this extra energy.

Most of your energy is dedicated to keeping your body healthy, so in
most cases, these abilities can only be achieved when extra energy is
acquired, and most people don't have an excess of energy. It is
because of this that you get the unpredictability of psychic or
supernatural phenomena under tests. They burn up the excess energy
over the first round of tests, leaving them empty and struggling to
reproduce results. Which also happens to look very bad for the
testers.

Again this is usually the opposite for energy masters, as most of
their efforts are spent not on training up these skills, although
they do, but on saving up mass amounts of energy. So they have
plenty of energy to work with for a while. The draw back is, they
put a great deal of effort into saving up this energy, like money in
a bank account, and therefore might have some reservations about
letting it go for what might be deemed as parlor tricks.

But to sum up, all psychic or supernatural phenomena require energy
to be performed or perceived, which explains why these testers aren't
consistently hitting high scores, and why psychic and supernatural
abilities aren't getting the appropriate attention they deserve. I
see a lot of people sitting down and trying to move objects to no
avail, and work with telepathy, or clairvoyance, etc. showing no
fruit for their labors because they believe that you need some
special practice or technique, while neglecting the most basic and
most important part.

You meet someone for the first time,
and a vibe rings out from deep within you, and suddenly you know
without images or words, what kind of person they are. The phone
rings and before you answer, or even see the caller ID, you know who
it is. You are walking along a dark road when you come to a
crossroads, when you look both ways, something ominous warns you from
taking the left path over the right, something you can't see, only
feel, and you might not understand why.

What is Extra-Sensory Perception (ESP)?
What is this part of you that everyone experiences from time to
time, in varying degrees, that can gleam information from future
events or situations. What informs you of the nature of someone you
just met? Or, allows you to know who's calling before one of your
five senses can confirm it for you. What sometimes warns you of
impending danger before it occurs so you can avoid it? What about
ourselves do we not know or fully understand?

ESP is a widely experienced and heavily
debated phenomena. We don't understand where it comes from, or what
purpose it serves, or how accurate information about the future can
be acquired prior to the event itself. Yet at the same time, it
occurs enough to not be wholly overlooked either. Another problem
that is present, is whether or not this phenomena can even be
attributed to something physical within the body.

ESP was often tested using a series of
cards called Zener Cards, or now appropriately named, ESP cards.
Each card would have 1 of 5 possible symbols on them in a deck of 25
cards. The deck was shuffled, and the experimenter would draw a
card, making sure the participant testing for ESP didn't see the
card, while they psychically tried to predict the correct symbol on
the card. Afterward, the score would be tallied up based on how many
of the cards the participant predicted correctly, against how many they
got incorrectly.

This test for ESP was developed by J.
B. Rhine, who was interesting in psychical research, believing it to
be a branch of abnormal psychology, eventually dubbing the phenomena
as Parapsychology. He moved to Duke University in the late 1920's
and opened a lab dedicated to it's research and hoping to turn ESP
into an acceptable field of science. Many students and volunteers
were tested for ESP during Rhine's years at Duke university, and in
1940 he co-authored a review of ESP research from over 60 years.

The review included 50 studies, most of
which belonged to independent research groups and other universities.
The majority of the studies showed significant results regarding
ESP, with participants scoring far above chance alone. Interestingly
enough, it's not just high scores that generate attention, it is also
incredibly low scores that do as well. Scores so low, they are far
below chance.

Rhine, among others, began testing to
see why some participants would score highly above chance, while
others scored far below chance. They found one indicator that
produced low scoring was due to boredom. If the participant was
tested for too long, the scores would eventually decline. This was
believed to be due to a loss of interest. From there the researchers
wanted to know just how much of the participants personality played a
part in the test results.

Much of the research showed that the
subjects attitude played a large role in whether they had a high or
low success rate. For instance, those who were shown to believe in
ESP, had a greater tendency to produce higher scores then those who
did not. Besides belief being a major contributor, other things have
shown to aid the effectiveness of ESP, such as creativity, artistic
ability, mental and emotional stability, and meditation.

Besides Rhine's Zener card experiments,
and others like it, there was also the Ganzfeld Experiment, conducted
by Charles Honorton. The ganzfeld experiment is again aimed at
testing ESP, but this time more controls are put in place to try and
eliminate any flaws in the process. The experiment itself puts a
person in a sound proof room that is electromagnetically shielded,
the person sits in a chair, with eyes covered, and headphones on that
play static for a half an hour. This forces the persons awareness
inward.

After a half an hour has passed, a
sender outside of the room, observes a randomly chosen target image,
who then tries to mentally send this information to the receiver
sitting in the shielded room. The receiver verbalizes everything
they might see, which is then recorded on tape. Over 350 experiments
were conducted between the years 1982 and 1989, where significantly
positive results were produced again and again. They also found that
belief and attitude affects ESP results just as Rhine did.

Research into ESP is still ongoing, but
the field continues to hold promise, despite skeptics appeals. Each
day we draw closer and closer to an answer, and thereby closer to the
truth, as science is forced to expand to fit the evidence.

ESP has since broadened its definition
to fit just about all kinds of psychic abilities and activities.
Such as telepathy, precognition, clairvoyance and even telekinesis,
but I'll try to cover those later. In the end, if you believe in
ESP, it seems the science is on your side!

Overcoming Doubt

My last post was about doubt and a
little on how to over come it. This time, I want to dig a little
deeper in how one might try and overcome it. To see if I can't flesh
out a process a little more, and maybe help anyone out there that
might be having some issues with self-esteem or doubt. I myself (as
of the time of the writing) recently went through an episode of
depression, doubt, anxiety and fear. It all sort of culminated into
an ugly moment in my life, and I struggled to find my way out of the
darkness.

For most of my life, I have struggled
with self-esteem issues. Always looking at myself as if I was
unworthy or inadequate. Never quite measuring up to the standard of
things, a born failure if you will. I would have my good days, sure,
but they usually proceeded a bad day, which would quickly put a lid
on any optimism I might have acquired during those good times. A
victim of circumstances, always allowing the bad in my life to carry
more weight then the good.

A couple of months ago, I figured
something out about my life. Something that in-fact would change my
whole world. It was like a light-bulb had finally turned on, and I
could see everything more clearly, which allowed me to put my
energies in the right places to help fix my life. It was great!
Everything was clicking. Like I was the guy from the movie
Limitless. I literally became faster, smarter, stronger, happier,
less stressed and fatigued, and I for some reason, didn't need as
much food or sleep to get me through the day, with no ill-effects. I
felt 120% better! Like a whole new person was born.

Of course this was short lived. A week
or two into my new found happiness, when then something happened
(which I wont go into) and suddenly, the walls around my new life
buckled and the ceiling collapsed hard on me. Hitting rock bottom
after climbing so high was very difficult to deal with. I went from
living in a dream world, to living in a nightmare. I was tormented
by fears and doubt, which lead to depression, and depression further
fed the fears. My mind swirled with images and thoughts derived from
these fears. It swallowed my mind, turning it against me. I
couldn't control these thoughts, or push them out of my head. They
even began to wake me in the middle of the night, or prevent me from
sleeping in the first place. It was pretty bad.

All I wanted to do was return to being
happy, feeling confident and full of energy. I figured the best way
to do this was to retrace my steps on how it managed it the first
time. But there was a problem. I suddenly couldn't remember how I
did it. Only bits and pieces of it remained, but most of the path I
took to achieve it vanished from my mind. It was unbelievable to me.
During that great period, only weeks prior, I had spent most of my
waking days just thinking about how good I felt, and even how I
managed it. I even meditated on it, everyday! Yet now, when I
needed it the most, I couldn't remember...

All I remembered about it was, that I
focused on myself above everything else, it involved the subconscious
mind, as well as the Soul, and energy. But now, when I thought about
those things, they felt so distant from me. Like petty wishful
thinking. Even though I remembered not only believing in these
things, but also being aware of them, and feeling them. It was like
I was in touch with some deep part of me. But now, I felt like it
was all an illusion. A trick of the mind I played on myself. Even
though deep down, I knew it wasn't.

So I was trying to juggle retracing my
steps and dealing with my depression at the same time. Trying to
remember how I came to a point in which I was able to reach some deep
place inside me, and begin to turn my negative beliefs around into
positive ones. I spent weeks on it. Everyday dedicating it to just
finding my way again. And everyday, coming up with only the same
bits and pieces that I already knew, and they felt empty. I kept
trying to believe in myself, and looking to the future with hope, but
it did feel hopeless. After a while, it began to stress my body, and
stress developed in the back of my head and neck, which made matters
worse. Finally after a couple of weeks, I began recalling a few more
memories. Like, everything tormenting my mind was just crap. Crap
that needed to be cleared out because it was fear based, and nothing
more. Others included the importance of energy in your physical,
emotional and psychological health.

Finally I began to remember more, and
here is how I did it.

We as a people are conditioned from an
early age to be subjected to the outside world. We get our
happiness, love and confidence from the experiences around us, and it
doesn't need to be that way. I'll give an example. Lets say today
is an average day for you, and you are feeling pretty neutral, not
too good, but not too bad though either. Suddenly, someone comes up
to you and pays you a compliment, one that hits you just right, and
suddenly you are feeling better and happier!

So, why are you feeling better now as
opposed to a few moments before the compliment? It's not that the
person gave you happiness. It's not even that the person is
responsible for your happiness. It was all you. You see, when the
person in the example above, complimented you, YOU responded
internally. It's partially psychological, because we aren't really
taught to be that independent. We are taught to mostly respond to
outside stimulus, and not as much inside stimulus. Even though that
feeling of happiness was always within you. I mean, it came from
you, right? It had to be in there to be felt and experienced in the
first place, right?

So if that feeling, or any feeling you
want for that matter, is already inside of you, why can't we call
them up on demand when we want them? Because we are conditioned to
be responsive to the outside world, not the inside world. However,
if you focus a bit more on responding to yourself, and less on the
outside world, you could feel as you wish, all the time. It's a
matter of reevaluating where you should put the most authority in
your life. Why can't YOU make YOU feel happier? What
could possibly be standing in the way?

Maybe believe in yourself? Perhaps you
respond to others more then yourself because you believe in them more
then you? Ever ask yourself why that might be the case? Maybe
because everyone else looks to them (figuratively speaking) or others
as an authority, so perhaps you should too? Then again, it was
probably 'them' that convinced you to trust 'them' over yourself in
the first place.

So it just becomes a matter of learning
to respond to yourself a bit more. Learn to feel happier because you
want to. Not needing something outside yourself to accomplish it,
because it's already within you in the first place, or else you
couldn't experience it. Once you begin to respond to yourself, you
will begin to believe in yourself, and you will feel like your
thoughts and feelings matter the most to you, and you will have
authority over your own life. You will feel centered and grounded in
yourself.

Once you pop the lid, things really
begin to pour. You may even start to challenge other negative
beliefs. Start asking yourself why you can't feel smarter, or
calmer, or have more energy to do things, or anything you want
really. You could start changing everything you don't like about
yourself. You are effectively a walking psycho-energetic being, and
everything is energy. So imagine what you could do if you could
change your mind around, and spend all that energy on positively
reinforcing yourself. Why not, right? After all, it is your life.

Meditation helps wonders with this too.
Although, the prospect of sitting still while contemplating yourself
may not sound all the thrilling, it does allow you to focus your mind
on just the task at hand with no other distractions, so you can dig
deeply into yourself and turn things around. You aim is to simply
get yourself to respond to yourself, on as deep of a level as you
can. Don't stress over it, stay as relaxed as possible, and you
begin to notice as you do this that you are almost talking to
yourself on a deep level. I kind of looked at it as giving myself
therapy. And after a while, meditation became quite pleasant,
because I was responding to myself more and I could then make
meditation feel however I wanted it to feel. Even being able to tell
aches and pains to go away, because I held a connection with some
deeper part of me.

Anyways,

I hope this was at least mildly
helpful.

I figured I would just a ramble on a little bit about doubt. I recently experienced a fit of doubt, it often comes with other emotional side effects, such as; Depression, anxiety, fear, emptiness, loneliness, lack of self-worth and more. I guess I always had that feeling that once a hurdle was overcome once, it was in my past, safely overcome and dealt with, so it may never cross my path again. But that was probably ignorant of me, but I did like to believe once something was accomplished, it was done, and need not be handled a second time. I’m childish in that way I guess.

But the truth is, I have to face it on a weekly basis. Something always pops up during the week that makes me stop and question. A lot of times, it’s a site or information I read on the internet somewhere, that conflicts with an idea or belief I had. I wont just accept anything that I run across, it has to bring something to the table to stimulate my questioning. Whether it be pictures, or evidence, or wording, it’s always something. But, most often, it’s really none of these, just me who gets in my own way. Pictures don’t actually sway me much, but a video can. I go to youtube a lot and watch all kinds of videos, it’s a nice hobby to pass the time. Evidence can quickly catch my attention, especially people who claim to have evidence against something I believe.

When it comes down to evidence, it usually involves tests, or studies science has done. Then people quickly run and grab the findings and point to different parts of the results to emphasize their claim by pointing out evidence. This can be very confusing when you go to different sites or sources pointing to the same tests and studies, but different parts of it, to back up their claims. For instance, a skeptic could make a video showing a specific part of the test or study, showing how something is wrong, or fake or whatever. If they ’word’ their video correctly, they can create a compelling case against something you thought was real, or something you just personally believed in, which in turn, can and probably will create doubt.

Wording is so important when it comes to expressing what you believe in, and trying to get others to believe in it too. This is especially true when the level of vocabulary is higher then your own, it has a tendency to bring authority to the subject, and therefore is more inclined to pull upon your will and beliefs, making it waver. No worries from me though, I suck at wording. If you stop and think about the things in life that make you stop and question, it generally involves 2 to 3 things or more. Evidence, Wording and Confidence.

Confidence to me is one the most important things, but it can also easily be faked. Although on it’s own, it’s worthless, it is what makes evidence and wording shine. Let’s take the video example from above and apply it a second time. Let’s say, you believe in Psychic Abilities, I figured it would be fitting… And you’re on youtube cruising around looking at videos, and your stumble across a video that claims to prove all psychic phenomena are fake, so out of curiosity, you give it a look. The video has all three, evidence wording and confidence from the presenter, to make the video a smooth representation. To you, the person doing the video gives off the feel that he/she knows what it is he/she is talking about. The person is confident in presenting this evidence, wording it elegantly. The video itself may have even branched into areas you haven’t looked into yet, and this adds more pressure to your beliefs to hold it’s ground.

This happens to me all the time. I run across places or information that is presented to me in a way that is slightly over my head, in a confident and elegant fashion. It even makes me feel a bit dumb from time to time, or maybe makes me question if I jumped before I looked ahead to see if I had gathered all the information to make a well informed decision about what I was getting into and what I decided to believe in. In fact, some places have been so good at it, for a short time, I did drop everything I believed in and took up what they where saying as truth. They had the evidence after all, they definitely gave me the impression they knew what they where talking about, as well and giving me the impression I wasn’t fully informed, or I was even duped into believing in something that was completely fake, as if I had been had….

I will be the first to admit, I’m not the strongest willed person, and I consider myself more open minded then many people around me. Hell, I sometimes even waver at times when people are just confident in what they say, even if they can’t back up their claims. Worst yet is, if someone purposes an idea that conflicts with mine, my brain seems to lock up, as if it seized. The harder I try to dispute such claims, the more it locks up. The social norm can also be a factor. People have a tendency to judge you on small things, and then label you based on a single attribute of yours, this can and has caused problems with me. So after years of this, I began to wonder if I was right, or if I was wrong. If I was right, how do I dispute it to those so willing to crush my beliefs.

I honestly can’t answer that. The best advice I can give you, is if you are having doubt, go out and do more looking around in the area. I know now, I will never be able to sit down and dispute a topic to the degree others can, I’m just not that good. The only offense I really have is defense. Learn what I can and try and understand what I can. For instance, I know if two different people look at the findings of a study or test run by science regarding a topic such as psychic phenomena, that each person can see different results. People see and believe what they want to see and believe. People are biased like that. I know for instance that if I run across a video that supports psychic phenomena, I will be more inclined to believe it then toss it aside, the only exception being it was so poor or too wild of a story to be real in any way. But my personality also likes to give people the benefit of the doubt.

There’s only one way I fight evidence, and that’s with evidence. First, I begin to doubt, and wonder if it’s true, so I go take a look. And I usually look in the skeptics area first… what do they have to bring to the table that I have overlooked. I try to read up on where they are standing the best that I can, but I always keep an eye out for holes in their argument. If I find anything suspicious, even if I can’t quite put my finger on it, I will then begin to look at their claims more closely, specifically trying to find a source of information that is trustworthy that is the least biased, that goes over the case study or experiment from beginning to end, and then I draw my own conclusion. The second and probably best way to gather evidence is through personal experience.

Personal experience is so very important. First you need to understand, that what ever you feel or uncover, is for you and you alone. You can’t really hand out personal experience as the word of god. People don’t take personal experiences as fact. Hell, most will try and use it against you. But at the end of the day, it has to be important to you. You, after all, did have the experience, so on some level it was real… wasn’t it? Only you can say yes or no, no one else can say it for you, because it wasn’t them who had the experience, was it.

Anyways, I’m starting to run in circles I think now. Somewhere along the lines here I lost track of where I was going and I think it just turned into me venting a bit. But I will leave you with this. Science is leaning more and more closer to the paranormal each day. It’s a subject up till recently was regarded as myth. I’ve found that many studies that presumably proved that any psychic ability or phenomena was fake, either did the opposite, and they only showed the low points or tried to explain the findings as incoherent anomalies. Or, the test or study either didn’t exist at all, or wasn’t specifically done for psychic phenomena. I also know that people don’t know everything. So if someone shows me compelling evidence against or for something, I know that test was done with the information we have available right now, and the results where scrutinized by methods based off what we know right now. So they could have missed something key completely.

Lastly, a lot of people tell me one thing or another about something they’ve read about how it’s fake. Second hand information is never completely trustworthy regardless of the source. I do a lot of reading and give people the benefit of the doubt when I read or watch something, but at the end of the day, if all I do is watch and read then take what they say as truth, then I have lied if I pass it off to the next guy as truth as well. This is why personal experience is so important, if nothing else but to yourself. If they say something is someway, and I take it and tell it to the next guy without trying it myself, then how can I be sure what I’m saying is even true? So understanding that a lot of what people say to you is just second hand information being passed on again, makes it a little easier to deal with, even if you can’t immediately dispute it.

Anyways, that’s my little ramble… you don’t have to take it to heart… oh damn, I forgot one major doubt. Just plain ol’ self doubt. For no apparent reason you maybe begin to question if your ability to do something. Ever get the feeling like, “Ya, I know it exists, but maybe it’s just that ‘I’ can’t do it”. This question can pester me to death when I begin something new. This doubt stems purely from your own strength and will. The best way I find to turn this around, is to sit on it. Dwell on the idea that you might not be able to. Try to feel your emotional state at the moment. You might realize that it’s just your emotions talking, maybe out of frustration, fear or something else. Once I realize my emotions are playing a big part, I slowly try and turn it around. One way I do this is by re-evaluating what I believe in and why, and how I came to believing in it. Another way is I question why I believe I don’t believe I can do it, and see if I can find evidence somewhere to suggests I can. This doesn’t have to be about the subject in question specifically, sometimes I look at other things in my life that I at first didn’t believe I could do, but eventually ended up doing. Or, I try and figure out why I can’t do it, and begin to fix whatever is stopping me in the first place.

Doubt will likely continually afflict you throughout your life, and it likely will be where your spirits are at the moment. Are they low or are the high. I personally believe doubt creates growth, in one way or another. Though I don’t personally believe there is some miracle cure to doubt, I do believe there are ways to help alleviate the potency or even turn it around. Though, I’m still looking for the miracle cure to doubt and instant self belief where it never wavers. Or the perfect formula to psychic and spiritual potential, I know that at the end of the day, it will have to be me walking on my path, discovering myself and dealing with my own hurdles that allow me to progress and grow and come to my own beliefs in my own way. But, I still have a tendency to want to look else where at those who are where I want to be, and have them show me how they did it.

I know I can learn from them, but I also must learn to apply what they tell me in my own way…

Anyways, I think I’m done… I doubt this was helpful (No pun intended…?) but I do know that many people are afflicted with doubt, and if nothing else, at least you know your not alone… It affects everyone, and by overcoming it, hopefully we grow just a little…

Phew... long post...

Later...Anthonyhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/15872671865550182418noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-8972561667258278516.post-31957116179607651352010-04-22T15:03:00.000-07:002011-11-09T14:40:02.082-08:00Psychic Training | Lesson 3Third-eye | Mind’s Eye

When people hear the Third-eye, or Mind’s eye, they almost immediately think of the Pyramid cap with an eye enclosed in a triangle; which can also be seen on the back of the one-dollar bill. The symbol of an eye in this respect, actually depicts the all seeing eye of God. But the Third-eye is also closely related to the Mind’s eye and a higher knowing. It is because of this reason, that the symbol is also related to psychic phenomena, as the information obtained through psychic feats almost seems to come from a higher place or attunement.

It is also associated with the sixth-chakra in eastern culture’s meditative practices. As well as a more modern spin with the Third-eye being associated with the pineal glad located in-between the two hemispheres of the brain. As you can see, the Third-eye or Mind’s eye is surrounded by myth and legend, but more specifically, intrigue. It has in some fashion or another, caught the attention of every culture. So, I figured it might suit well for a lesson.

I picked up a book not too long ago, about Energy Work. In fact, that was the Title, Energy Work by Robert Bruce. It’s a good read and can help you out a lot if you feel stuck or are new to the ideas of Energy Work, and want results more quickly, but it also has a lot of exercises. Anyways, in the book, he mentions an exercise that I have ran across before, and decided to play around with. You basically visualize a purple energy ball, as purple corresponds with that chakra. Try and imagine it as if it had static/electrical qualities and feel this ball as much as visualize it, and every sensation that might accompany it if the ball actually existed.

Once created, and you can feel it, or at least some sensation, you begin to move it slowly, in and out of the Third-eye chakra which is located between the eyes on the eye-brow ridge. You focus purely on your actions and the sensation of it moving in and out, through flesh and bone and into the brain itself; trying to feel every detail as it passes through and stimulates the energy there. Do this repetitively for a few minutes and then stop for the day, and do it each day for a few minutes. If the sensations become bothersome, stop for that day and don’t do it again until the problem passes.

I have found that with this method my accuracy with intuition has increased and become a little more active. Not to mention my concentration has improved as well, which is always nice.

As a side note, you don’t want to stress over feeling the sensations, if you can't feel it immediately, keep trying and it will come, but don't stress. He describes it as electrical, but I personally couldn’t feel it as electrical, it was more like the area got sensitive and receptive to activity. The sensation felt more like moving air, and sometimes a heavy or thickness where ever I felt the ball. So long as you feel something, and it isn’t bothering you, you should be ok. But you really should try and hone in on what you are feeling in response to what you are trying to do mentally. After only a few days, I was able to notice more results, it was quite interesting.

Doing this exercise should help with opening up more of your psychic abilities and this area; the Third-eye or Mind’s eye has always been associated with Psychic abilities and Intuition.

I hope this lesson helped some.Anthonyhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/15872671865550182418noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-8972561667258278516.post-22516311184112607492010-03-30T16:31:00.000-07:002011-11-09T14:35:56.799-08:00Psychic Training | Lesson 2Developing your Psychic Intuition

In the psychic world, if you throw a rock in any direction looking for information, you’ll find the word Intuition pops up a lot. This is because intuition is highly revered and important. Intuition is a knowing or understanding without prior exposure to whatever was perceived. It is as much internal as it is external, and it is intuition that most of the information acquired through means of ESP are gathered. It is regarded as a buffer of sorts between the knowledge of this world, and a higher knowing beyond. It is for this reason that when Intuition picks up on something, it often emerges as feelings, visions or an indescribable understanding.

We’ve all experienced that gut feeling before, that told us something was right, or wrong, for no apparent reason. Though, sometimes you find out it was wrong, but on the other hand, sometimes you find out it was right. But, if you’re interested in learning how to become psychic (more accurately training your already existing psychic abilities), picking up and working with your intuition more is important. But, how does one work with a gut feeling?

It’s about how you would guess. First, knowing yourself more helps loads here, and is why I listed meditation and awareness as lesson one. The more you know yourself, the more informed you are about yourself and can then make better decisions based on this.

Believing that your intuition can guide you to the answers you seek is important. Believing can encourage it to surface more often, and therefore you can exorcise it more often.

Trusting yourself helps as well. If your first instinct/gut feeling/intuitive response is negative towards something, then trust it and don’t do it, this also applies to the opposite.

If your intuition gives you an answer, follow up on it. See where it leads you when you follow it. This can help you fine-tune it more.

Don’t force your intuition to happen, there is nothing I have found when it comes to anything dealing with the mind or soul that you can force and have happen. Relax and let it come to you.

If you have a question, ask it to yourself, then quietly wait for an answer. Be patient about it, try not to think it up, just let it appear.

Just a little note. When people experience a moment of intuition, it is usually followed by a flurry of thoughts shortly after. Sometimes the gap between the intuition itself and the flurry of thoughts is almost none. Also, the thoughts are often closely related to the intuition itself as well, so in many cases, it may seem like it was just a single thought among the many. The intuition usually is what kicks starts it though, giving you an answer that may well not be what you wanted, and sometimes these thoughts that follow are filled with details that discourage you from listening to this inner-voice.

This is why I say follow up… if you do so and the results are surprisingly positive, then you will be more inclined to try and follow it more. But, even if the results are negative, you still gain from it. This is apart of the fine tuning process. It is said, “You learn more from failure then success“, this statement I have found to be very true.

Well, I think that should do it for Lesson 2 - Developing your Psychic Intuition.
Psychic Training Lesson 3 is next.Anthonyhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/15872671865550182418noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-8972561667258278516.post-64487803588486139772010-03-24T16:25:00.000-07:002011-11-01T14:39:52.242-07:00Psychic Training | Lesson 1Developing your Psychic Awareness

The development of your psychic abilities begins and ends with your awareness. What you are aware of and why, is the founding cornerstone to how you perceive the world around you. Perception comes after awareness because you must first be aware of something, before you can perceive it. Perception is how you interpret that which you are aware of, and, with these two things combined, you get ‘your take’ on the world around you. These things are applied to your life at all times, and must be expanded if you wish to develop your abilities.

Meditation

Meditation is a great place to start. It allows you passage to a deeper understanding of yourself. Meditation is actually quite flexible in terms of approach and execution, as it really has neither a “Right way” approach or execution. It is used for a myriad of things such as concentration (To relax, and fixate your mind on a single thought or object for an extended period of time), or awareness (To relax and expand your mind and senses to feel, see and hear more… allowing yourself to take in information that was previously overlooked), or even to conquer a fear or obstacle in life.

Meditation is merely the means, or the tool in which to train yourself the skill of concentration, or expanding your awareness. Your psychic development hinders on your ability to expand and accept more of what is out there to find. But be wary, as you begin to embark in your psychic training journey, you will likely be treading in unfamiliar territory, and thus it is your imagination that will likely lead the way. This is not uncommon, and is your mind’s way of trying to bridge a gap between what you are used to, and what you are not.

It is for this reason, that when you begin developing your psychic abilities to not abandon reason or logic. The imagination is a powerful tool when used correctly and with restraint. Because without logic and reason, one would only have exorcised their imagination to the point of believing what they think they feel or sense. But, don’t abandon your imagination either, it has it’s place in your training as well. Instead, use your imagination to perceive and be aware beyond, and use logic and reason to keep you balanced.

As for the meditation itself, start by getting into a comfortable position, this can be sitting or laying down if you like. Once you find a comfortable position, sit or lay still, let your mind go blank, as if it is emptying itself of all your thoughts and troubles, until you find yourself in a state of peaceful nothingness. Try to embrace this peaceful nothingness for a minute or so, allowing it to wash over your whole self. You may begin to feel some odd sensations, such as tingling, buzzing or a light sense of vibration, even a little warm or cold. These sensations are fine, even good, as long as they aren’t causing any discomfort.

At this point, if you want to work on your concentration, then all you need to do is pay attention to your breathing. Try to be preset with each inhale and exhale, gently keeping your attention on each breath. Try not to monitor your breathing in such a way to cause any stress, and try not to control your breathing while you do this either. Allow it to remain in a natural, peaceful and effortless state.

In the beginning, you will likely have stray thoughts pop in and out, they may even take you on a short little adventure without you noticing. This is natural, simply as soon as you realize it has happened, softly bring your attention back to your breathing. Eventually less and less intrusive thoughts will interfere, and you will be able to maintain this peaceful state of concentration for longer. I use this meditation a lot when I want to clear and center my mind, and it works quite well.

If you would rather work on expanding your awareness, then it is a little bit different then working on your concentration, it’s also a bit more tricky. Having practiced and improved your concentration can help tremendously here. Start by relaxing and coming to a state of peaceful nothingness, but instead of placing your attention on your breathing, try to move it through your body a little.

An example would be to place it on your left hand, allowing your awareness and attention to seep deeply into it. Again without stressing over it, try to feel the skin and a little of the atmosphere around it, then a little deeper to maybe the blood vessels and tendons, then to the bone. Try to keep the area of your awareness to that of the size of a golf or tennis ball, which ever is easier for you to maintain. Move it slowly and gently up your wrist to your elbow at a comfortable pace. While doing this, don’t overly concentrate, as you also want to maintain that blank space in your mind as much as you can. When you begin to get better at moving your awareness around your body, the less you will need to concentrate to maintain this state. This is where it gets a little tricky.

With the comfortable blank space in your mind, you want to open it up to where you are placing you attention and awareness. Allowing for pictures or anything that may be important to show up in this blank space. For instance, if your awareness is in your left hand, and you want to pick up some specific information about it, let’s say because it feels tingly, then place your awareness in your hand, then open the blank space up and allow into it pictures, words or even impressions. Allow the answer, or even a clue to come to you. Just try not to force any pictures, thoughts or impressions using your imagination.

With some time you will get better at it, and eventually you can practice expanding you awareness to outside your body. Its important to remember to let the information come, and not force it to. This will help taper any bias or lust for an answer, and allow for the answer to be more accurate naturally. This also can promote an acceptance of your psychic abilities.

When starting out, take small steps and don’t try and leap for the stars. Don’t be impatient, if you truly want to develop your psychic abilities, isn’t it worth the wait and do it correctly? Those who jump without thinking, find themselves freefalling in a dream. It may seem tough in the beginning, or even you may feel as if you are getting nowhere, but the saplings to any tree bear no fruit in the beginning, but with time and patience, it grows. The same goes for Developing your Psychic Abilities.

Anyways, I think that covers Lesson 1, See you in Psychic Training | Lesson 2

This is mostly a continuation of my previous post on Psychic Phenomena. But I figured I would try to add a more extensive list of psychic abilities, with a brief description. When it comes to human potential, the possibilities could very well be endless, and the list below may only be the beginning.

ESP

As mentioned in my previous post, ESP (Extrasensory Perception) is an umbrella term describing how one with this ability is able to pick up on additional information beyond the average reach of the traditional five human senses. There are many abilities under this category that I at least attribute to ESP.

Telepathy - The ability to pick up on and/or attune oneself to another persons mind and have access to ‘varying degrees’ of another persons thoughts. I stress varying degrees because it’s not like in the movies where you can hear someone else’s thoughts as if they where verbally speaking them. Some are able to perform this ability to a greater extent then others. My own experience of this is more like very strong impressions on what they are thinking, including sometimes pictures and ideas. Telepathy is not something I’m strong with though.

Empathy - The ability to pick up on and/or attune oneself to another persons emotional state, having access to, again ‘varying degrees’ of another persons emotions. Many people experience empathy on a daily basis. One such example would be, if you’ve ever come home to a loved one, who showed no signs of being in an ill mood, but you could feel it, as if you just knew. An Empath picks up on another’s emotions. It often impacts their own subconsciously, changing their emotional state to more of the one their picking up on.

Precognition - Known for it’s premonitions, is the ability to see into the future. Precognition is the name of the ability, and Premonitions are the associated name for when one gets a vision of the future. In other words, if one has the ability of precognition, then a vision of the future would be the premonition. Most often coming in the form of dreams, they are often depictions of a coming, future event. Though one can have them when awake, it is less often though.

Retrocognition - Also know as Postcognition, is a lesser known ability related to Precognition, but with a twist, it sees visions of the past.

Clairvoyance - Able to see beyond that which is the normal range of sight. Related to Remote Viewing, has the ability to see and pick up on information about a specific location, person or object. Clairvoyance, like Remote Viewing is something most often done while one is awake, and actively tries to direct ones mind and sight, to a specific location, person or object. But, is not strictly so. Some are able to perform this psychic feat without conscious intent to do so, and will gain information from sight spontaneously.

Clairaudience - Like Clairvoyance, but in this way gain information through sound and hearing. Able to hear outside or beyond that which is the normal range of hearing.

Clairsentience - Like Clairaudience, but in this way gains information through touch and feeling. This psychic ability is featured in the show “The Dead Zone”. Clairsentience also goes by the name of Psychometry.

Psychic Reading - There are many types of psychic reading, a popular method would be the Tarot Card readings. But, a psychic readings main purpose is to try and divine the future of the individual who is interested in the reading. The Psychic will use one of many different methods in which to obtain the information in question. As mentioned above, Tarot Card Readings are very common, Horoscopes are probably the most common, Astrology, Numerology and even Aura readings are widely used as well.

Psychic Medium - Also known as Mediumship and Channeling, is the ability to communicate with the dead. Often acting as a conduit of sort, or a “middle-man” for the dead and the living. In other words, Psychic Mediums take to the living on behalf of the dead. Often for those interested in contacting a loved-one who has passed on.

If you’ve noticed, the above deal with ESP, and the abilities seem to revolve around receiving information. Those with ESP (which I believe us all to have) are more sensitive to the hidden world around us. Psychic abilities seem to be about “Taking in” this otherwise unobtainable information. When you compare it to five senses, which are Seeing, Hearing, Tasting, Touching and Smelling, they all deal with taking in. But, there are other Psychic Abilities that do the opposite…

Psychokinesis

Psychokinesis, related to Telekinesis by scientific terms, has become an umbrella term in the Psionic Community. Since there are so many of these for smaller, individual aspects of psychokinesis, I will keep the description short.

Telekinesis - The ability to move objects at a distance. There is Micro-Telekinesis, the ability to affect change on a small scale undetectable by the human eye, often on Random Number Generators. And then there is Macro-Telekinesis, which is the ability to affect change in larger scale like objects which are noticeable by the human eye.

Aerokinesis - The psychic ability to affect and control Air.

Atmokinesis - The psychic ability to affect and control Atmosphere.

Biokinesis - The psychic ability to affect and control Biological Systems.

Chronokinesis - The psychic ability to affect and control Time.

Cryokinesis - The psychic ability to affect and control Ice.

Electrokinesis - The psychic ability to affect and control Electricity.

Geokinesis - The psychic ability to affect and control Earth.

Hydrokinesis - The psychic ability to affect and control Water.

Lumokinesis - The psychic ability to affect and control Light.

Pyrokinesis - The psychic ability to affect and control Fire.

Telekinesis - The psychic ability to affect and move Objects.

Thermokinesis - The psychic ability to affect and control Temperature.

Umbrakinesis - The psychic ability to affect and control Darkness.

Vitakinesis - The psychic ability to promote Healing.

Phew, what a list. I won’t endorse all of these, because, seriously, some sound ridiculous. I think that’s sort of why psionics adopted Psychokinesis as a umbrella term for all these. I also want to state, that these aren’t individual disciplines, but more like titles for aspects of the same ability. So in each one of these you would be performing Psychokinesis, but if you where using it to play with fire, it would be Pyrokinesis, so others would understand in which manner you are using it.

Sorry for using the same words over and over, I’m kind of getting a headache, so I wanted to just quickly write it down (Quick! Get me some Vitakinesis! Sounds almost like a medicine).

Anyways, there’s a bigger list for you. All of these you can learn if you wish to. There are other abilities out there, but I think this list is large enough as it is...Anthonyhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/15872671865550182418noreply@blogger.com1tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-8972561667258278516.post-67737273460059293072010-02-18T15:28:00.000-08:002011-09-23T14:07:18.404-07:00Psychic PhenomenaWhat are some forms of Psychic Phenomena?

There are many forms of psychic phenomena in the world, as there are many Psychic Abilities. These phenomena have intrigued us all since the very beginning. One of the reasons is as to why it is so popular is, because they keep happening. As well as, they happen to everyone, at least once. I wager though, that most people have a psychic experience everyday, but sometimes it goes unnoticed. People are genuinely intrigued by the mysterious powers of the mind and what potential psychic abilities they might hold, and not know. Some may even fear having a psychic ability that they will never know about or get to experience.

What intrigues me though, isn’t that the mind can do some of these things, but that it can do all of these things. How much of the mind, of our psychic potential, have we not unearthed yet, for our subconscious to keep throwing us these curveballs. If we look at all the mystical abilities the mind seems to hold, you would find the list runs on for a very long time. And yet, in the end, it can be chalked up to a 3 pound lump of wrinkly mass buried in bone. Yet for something that you can hold in your hand, it can do so many thing…

Extrasensory Perception

Extrasensory Perception is the ability to look past what is perceivable by the five normal senses to gather information about something that is often not readily available to you. This phenomena is has gained special attention over the years because of how common it is. A good example of what I’m talking about would be, if you could picture a guy holding a card in his hand of a picture, and a second guy trying to figure out what that picture is while sitting across from him, and the picture is out of view. It is a classic representation of psychic phenomena and is often used by magicians. But it does well to illustrate what I’m talking about. In the scenario above, the second guy is trying to use ESP to gain information about the card.

In the most simplest terms, it’s a prediction. But ESP is far from simple. In fact it can be used for a wider variety of psychic phenomena, such as telepathy.

Telepathy

Telepathy is the ability to read peoples minds. Though, I should note that telepathy in real life is not as clean as Hollywood suggests. You can just hear what people are thinking so clearly it would be no different then if they where talking. But, ESP plays a part here too. You would apply this Extrasensory Perception to the mind of another in order to pick up on what he/she is thinking. Or more accurately, pulling information to getting a better feel or idea of what their thinking.

Clairvoyance

Clairvoyance has many similarities with telepathy, except here you see pictures instead of thoughts. An example of clairvoyance would be if you had a vision of sort of your friend getting pulled over by the cops, only to find out later, that he did. With it you can see events happening that are likely further away then what your 5 senses can pick up. It could even by called remote viewing.

Precognition

Precognition is the ability to see into the future. Here you would use Extrasensory Perception to divine information of things to happen in the future. Many predictions have been made because of Precognition, and today we are looking to Nostradamus’s predictions for the end of the world of sorts described by his writings that we now associate with 2012. But, nevertheless, people use this one fairly often. Especially in business, they try and predict how their business will move and change in the future, among other things.

Psychic Medium

A Psychic Medium or Mediumship (According to Wikipedia) is the ability to communicate with spirits or ghosts. This is obviously not a very common phenomena, but is likely one of the most popular forms of psychic phenomena as many associate psychics with one of a few things, one being, talking with spirits. Many believe a medium is sensitive enough to pick up what a nearby ghost or spirit is saying, and in a session often acts as the middleman or “Medium” (hence the term) for the living and the dead.

Now that Psychic Medium has been brought up, I wanted to share a little story with you about a group of people in the 1970’s known as the Owen Group.

This group of 8 people set out to test if poltergeist phenomena was real or not. Believing that at least some of the phenomena reported was actually a product of victim’s mind. The first created a fictional character by the name of Philip Aylesford, and gave him a complete background and biography. They just about covered every detail including what he looked like.

For a solid year they got together and meditated on him, trying to hone his detail and refine him even more. They where hoping that with his character so complete, they could make contact with him and prove that not all ghost or poltergeist activity was purely spiritual. After that year, they had no luck, and tried something more direct, as they attempted a séance. Sure enough, they began to get a response. There where wrappings on the wall and the table they where at would slide across the room, and Philip would respond to the questions they asked. They even asked detailed questions about his life and he was answer correctly. And yes, he claimed to be Philip.

There is actually footage of it, but I couldn’t find it. But nevertheless, it is food for thought. Could we really dream up a ghost and make it so real that it can move tables and knock on walls? It makes you wonder what psychic powers the mind really holds, doesn’t it?

Anyways, I hope this was interesting for you.Anthonyhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/15872671865550182418noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-8972561667258278516.post-6299662708972880312010-02-09T15:08:00.000-08:002011-09-23T14:06:59.298-07:00Psychic EnergyWhat is Psychic Energy?

There have been many theories over the years as to what Psychic Energy is, and where it comes from, let alone how it can do the things it can do. I personally am not 100% sure as to what Psychic Energy is, I can only speculate as to what I’ve experienced and compare it to what I’ve learned.

By definition, Psychic, or Psyche defines the Mind, and Energy is defined by ability to do work, or exert effort. In other words its fuel for a task. So, to sum it up, it’s the Mental Ability to do Work. Though that kind of sounds like something you would do while solving math problems or something. People’s immediate opinion of Psychic Energy is often supernatural in view. They look at it as some extreme form of attunement with a hidden world of sorts that lies just beyond the physical senses ability to pick up on.

But is it?

I guess in the most stereotypical of senses it can be conveyed as such, but it’s not strictly so… From my understanding, psychic energy, like all other forms of Energy, is in the form of waves. You see, everything in the universe that exists consists of at least 2 things. Energy, and Vibrations. Now Vibrations are a form of wave, and they are Energy, but it’s how the energy vibrates which gives it form and texture. If you will, try and picture an object near you, and try to understand it as energy. Now, the next step would seem to try and understand that this energy is Vibrating, but I would rather you stay on the energy for now.

Picture this object packed with information, sort of like each atom and molecule come together with information, and unite into let say, a coffee cup, or what ever your looking at. It’s holds together tightly with each other, effectively creating 1 item. It’s holds this information sternly, and as it does so, it begins to “Hum”. Basically Vibrating, but I figured Humming would better convey what I mean. This humming is a representation of the energy united and the information it contains, working to sustain the item.

The whole world works like this, it’s pretty much been proven. Anyways, people work like this too. We give off mental energy in the form of waves every time we have a thought. This thought radiates outwards with information. So in essence, Psychic Energy is just either a directed form of these waves, or, someone who is sensitive enough to receive them.

Now, if you where to imagine two people in a room watching tv. We’ll call them person A and person B. Neither of them are speaking, but person A has a thought, he noticed he’s hungry, and starts thinking about ordering a pizza. But before person A suggests the idea, or gets up for the phone, person B says he’s starting to get hungry, and offers to order a pizza. An average day consists of small things like this all the time, you’ve probably had something like this happen to you as well. People often pass it off without consideration and say something like “That’s what I was thinking too” then they get up, order and pizza and go on with their day.

But, if you break it down to something underneath the surface, underneath what the 5 senses can pick up, what might have happened was. Person A’s thought was sent out in a wave and person B picked it up, or received it. This phenomena is known more commonly as telepathy, and it happens all the time. But, people think differently then others. We each think in sort of a coded format specific to us and us alone. We have our own way of formulating information into a thought, which is distinctive to ourselves like a fingerprint. But, in the example above, person A and B where friends. Over a period of time, they subconsciously got used to each others thought patterns to the point where one can send and the other receive, and accurately translate the others into something understandable for the receiver.

Some people out there are naturally lucid when it comes to translation, and are able to accurately pick up on what people are thinking, based on the vibrations received and a lucid form of translation on their part. But, anyone can learn to send out more directed waves of energy, or learn to become more sensitive with some practice and training…

Anyways, I think that kind of covers what I think Psychic Energy is… I hope it helped some…Anthonyhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/15872671865550182418noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-8972561667258278516.post-36625817872782626722010-02-04T14:07:00.000-08:002011-10-25T16:26:34.394-07:00Famous Psychics in HistoryA List of World Famous Psychics

This is a short list of some of the more famous and renowned psychics from our history, to modern day. It is by no means a complete list, but more so serves as a highlight with the name, and a short description. I recommend to all who read this to do their own research. It’s very important when dealing with a controversial subject such as Psychics to do some research yourself. Besides, it’s more fun to actually see some of these psychics perform, or better yet, have your own psychic experience!

Lydia Clar

A psychic since childhood, Lydia Clar was an avid believer that each of us which had such a gift should develop the skill and use it to help others. She inspired many psychics to delve into their abilities more, most notably, John Edwards, from the famous medium show, "Crossing Over". Lydia practiced many arts in the psychic field, including, Tarot readings, Numerology, Yoga and Psychometry.

Micki Dahne

Likely one the most famous psychics, Micki Dahne has been featured on numerous television shows, magazines and articles. Micki’s mother, was a psychic herself, which gave Micki a rare opportunity to grow up in an unrestricting environment, allowing her psychic abilities to flourish. She also apparently gives psychic readings to some famous people, but unfortunately, she wont say who they are.

Allison Dubois

Allison Dubios is an author and medium, having helped law enforcement in several cases all over America. She prefers the term medium over psychic because psychic is viewed negatively by many, (unfortunately). She first realized her medium abilities at the age of 6. Later in her life, she wrote a book titled “Don’t Kiss Them Good-bye”, which from it, spun a television series called “Medium”, ironically enough.

Ingo Swann

Ingo Swann, like Allison, prefers a different term over psychic, such as “Consciousness Researcher”. He is likely best known for his remote viewing skills, as well as the one who developed the most refined process used for remote viewing. Having done several experiments with Harold Puthoff and Russell Targ. Unfortunately, the findings within the experiment are highly controversial. Despite the controversy, both Targ and Puthoff expressed their belief that Ingo Swann had a genuine psychic ability

Derek Acorah

A famous English medium, best known for his work on the television series “Most Haunted”, though his television work is not limited to just that. He has had several shows in which he’s hosted, such as “Psychic LiveTime”, “The Psychic Zone” and “Predictions with Derek Acorah”. Also an author of several books as well. Derek has met his share of controversy over his abilities, even at one point where he was caught faking. But he is still revered by many.

Sylvia Browne

Is an author, who’s subject matter specifically retains to psychics, mediums and spirituality. She is likely the most controversial psychic around, next to Geller. She has been featured on many television shows for her supposed abilities. I will openly admit, I don’t believe her psychic abilities are genuine, but nevertheless she is known as one, so she fit’s the subject matter of this post. She has even opened a church called ‘Novus Spiritus’. She has also been convicted of charges for Investment Freud, and Grand theft. Wow, no wonder Ingo and Allison don’t like the term Psychic…

Edgar Cayce

Edgar Cayce is an American psychic, who channels answers from beyond. Many even believe he is the founder of the “New Age Movement”, even though he was a devout Christian. Hundreds of books have been written on him since his passing, and some even consider him to be a prophet of sorts. He also has had his share of skeptics taking their shot at him, as they so love to do… He is related closely to Atlantis and his readings about it.

John Edward

John Edward is an American Psychic medium and easily one of the most famous psychics in the world. Most people know him by his show, ‘Crossing over with John Edward’ in which he features his talent for communicating on behalf of the dead. Interestingly enough, it was another psychic by the name of Lydia Clar that told him when he was younger, that he would be a world famous psychic. I admit, I did not believe John Edward to be a genuine psychic for a long time. That has now changed, since I looked into him and his ability a bit more. As like many of the others, John has met his share of skepticism, and criticism, as well as blatant attacks against his character.

Uri Geller

Most people have heard of the Israeli British psychic, Uri Geller, as like many, he has been around on several television shows, magazines and articles. Most known for his psychokinetic ability to bend spoons with the power of his mind, he is also known for dowsing and telepathy. He has met his fair share of skepticism though, I personally am not sure. I have seen evidence where he could have faked it, as well as footage that seemed genuine. Geller swept over the world and is likely one of the most famous, much of which though, can be credited to the controversy over his abilities.

Nina Kulagina

Nina Kulagina is personally my favorite. Not only do I believe her to be genuine, but I also believe she is one of the very few in which has yet to be successfully debunked. She is most known for her psychokinetic, or telekinetic ability to move small objects. Unlike most of the above, Nina has gone through scrutinous testing and experiments to determine whether or not she was the real deal. To this day, they have not been able to figure out how she was able to do the things she did. Some of the things she did besides move small objects, was, start or stop the beating of a frogs heart, separate the yoke from an egg, and effect the heart rate of a living person, all without physical contact from a short distance.

Nostradamus

Likely the most famous psychic of all time. Nostradamus was a French apothecary, and renowned seer. Famous for his many predictions, and most of all, the end of days. The wording in his predictions where vague and roundabout, giving details in a colorful, even story telling manner. Today, because of that, his prophecies are looked at with doubt. Because of the obscurity of the prophecies, it leaves room for interpretation, which was a style oracles used to use. Though, beyond that, Nostradamus is still highly revered to this day for his prophecies. There is even a show on the History Channel called, “The Nostradamus Effect”, in which they explore the meaning to his prophecies and if/how they tie to the modern day.

The last here is for Humor purposes only

James Randi

Anyone who deals with anything outside of our of societies norm, has likely heard of the stage magician turned paranormal debunker, James Randi. Known as the hardest skeptic in the world, he thrives on tearing apart the fakes and exposing them to the world. But James has another life, one secreted away, hidden behind the skeptics smile, and headstrong debunking. He is in fact….

The most powerful psychic in the World!

Able to look into your very soul with a single glance. He can find your deepest fears and feed them to you! Attempted to debunk Geller, only because he was weak by comparison, Randi can actually bend 40 spoons! With a single thought! He even knows what your thinking, before you do! He’s that good….

So, if you see him in a dark alley, late at night, run the other way, and hope he doesn’t take control of your mind and make you dance naked in the streets… while throwing poop at people…

You’ve been warned….Anthonyhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/15872671865550182418noreply@blogger.com1tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-8972561667258278516.post-88749981738582672762010-01-27T13:48:00.000-08:002011-10-21T14:52:03.271-07:00Are you Psychic?Yes you are, everyone is Psychic

Everyone is Psychic, to some degree. At least that’s my opinion, you may differ. It’s pretty common for everyone at some point in their lives to predict something, then later watch it come true. It can definitely peak one‘s curiosity as to how in-fact they knew that was going to happen. They may sit on it a while, even playfully bring up the possibility that they are psychic, but then usually they pass it off as an accident or coincidence, and move along. On the other hand, sometimes they don’t, and the search for answers begins. It’s not quite as simple as either A, or B, but usually it does come down to whether or not someone is willing to look at it a little more and acknowledge it, or dismiss it.

Coincidence often comes to mind when someone says Prediction. But how many times can something happen when you ’Predicted’ it, before it leaves the realm of coincidence and branches into something more? I was watching a show last night, it was called Psychic Search. It seemed the show was about putting psychics to the test by placing them in an environment in which skepticism was dominant, but allowing the psychic a chance to prove him/her self. Even I kept a healthy dose of skepticism, as I am aware that some shows are faked for ratings.

Though of course, as you can guess, the psychic passed, and managed to turn the skeptics into believers, or at least helped lean them towards the idea and possibility. What I found that I specifically liked about it though, is it wasn’t like a lab test. They gave him a case, and to my knowledge, he wasn’t informed before hand, then let him do his psychic thing. The people that were around him didn’t tell him anything, and often seemed reserved about the details he uncovered, even if he hit the mark. Only later would they admit it, after they left the area.

The reason I bring that up is, people often don’t give their psychic abilities room to breathe, and make errors. The scrutiny of a lab tests creates a stressful environment, it would almost feel like sitting in an interrogation room. Besides, the one’s running the test will read the results differently depending on their opinion of the subject. In essence, people see what they want to see. If you have a believer looking at some results, and they notice a spike, they will see evidence there. While if a skeptic views it, and sees the same spike, but around it, the lines are more subtle and even flat in some places, they will see an anomaly.

Unless the spike could be reproduced over and over again repeatedly, that specific result is inconclusive. Which is how tests work. The result must be able to be reproduced on command in order for it to be taken as fact.

With that in mind, most people do at some point in their lives, give “Psychic Powers” a quick heave-hoe, or one-two punch, trying to predict something on command. They often fail, and shortly after stop believing, because it wasn’t something they could just have and be done with it. But did you ever stop and take notice, that when you foresaw a phone call, or saw a friend arriving before they actually did. Or finished someone’s sentence before they did, because you just knew what they where going to say, or could have sworn you heard your name called when there was no one around to call it. You ever notice that these things happen, when you aren‘t trying?

The act of trying can actually get in the way. It has a lot to do with the differences between the conscious, waking mind, and the unconscious, hidden mind. The unconscious mind mostly focuses on storing memories and experiences, and creating patterns and habits out of these experiences, as well as our thoughts and perceptions. The conscious mind is a bit more adventurous and thinks more abstractly, dealing with what-if scenarios in either past or future tense. The problem arises when we simultaneously try to connect with our psychic abilities and the energy around us, then control it in the next moment. I will try and go into this a bit more later on.

So, everyone is psychic. And the first thing that needs to be squashed is that any kind of Psychic Power, is supernatural. The fact is, it is natural, and there have been numerous psychics in history that support this. You got to admit, that even you had times where you wondered, how you just knew. You just got to give your psychic abilities a little bit more room to breathe, that’s all. Learn to open up to them first, then learn to harness them.Anthonyhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/15872671865550182418noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-8972561667258278516.post-23214041338261983422010-01-26T13:44:00.000-08:002011-10-21T14:02:22.702-07:00Psychic DefinitionSo what is a Psychic?

Deriving from the Greek word, Psychikos, meaning, ‘from the soul’ or ‘mind’. It describes a person who has a “seemingly” unique ability to look past the veil of the world, and obtain information otherwise unobtainable by the traditional five human senses.

The term psychic was first introduced by the French Astronomer, Nicolas Camille Flammarion. Since then, the term psychic has grown into an umbrella term, which now covers a wide range of psychic phenomena. Some of the more common abilities attributed to psychic phenomena are, Premonitions, Prophecies, Fortune Telling, Telepathy and Communicating with the Dead.

There are many theories though as to the source of these abilities, as well as there purpose. Some believe they are gifts, granted to them by higher beings, others believe a close brush with death unlocked them, and some believe it’s hereditary, having had their parents psychic gene passed down to them, and the list goes on. I personally believe that everyone is psychic, and many of these abilities lay dormant deep within each of us.

Psychics are generally associated with the Mind and Intuition, which gives rise to a sixth-sense. Allowing them to be sensitive to frequencies or even Energy around them, which in turn gives them subtle access to information. This information may come in many forms, such as dreams, emotions or even visions. Psychic, nowadays though, has evolved into something like a net, catching anything related to the mind, that surpasses normal function or processes.
